Who Will Speak Truth to Power? And When?

No less a luminary than Dr. Michael Eric Dyson last month asserted that the time to pressure Obama to cut the military budget would not come till after the election when, as he said “we have a seat at the table.” We think this is transparently wrong. Obama responded to our calling him out in 2003 because he was still in an election campaign, and needed every vote he could get. The day after the election, he could have ignored us with relative safety, just as Cheney and Bush ignore their approval ratings in the twenty and thirty percent range the last three years and more.

But in 2003 Obama was a mere mortal. Now corporate media have made him a rock star, Joshua, a prince on his way to a coronation. Those who raise questions about Obama's commitment to a progressive agenda will have to struggle to be heard. That's just the way it is. They may even have to be impolite at times. That's just the way it is too. Rock stars, royalty and the uncritical adulation they require make little room for polite criticism or democratic discussion.


Third party runs for the presidency have sometimes succeeded in exerting leftward pressure on Democratic presidential candidates. The best example is 1948, when Henry Wallace campaigned for president on the Progressive Party ticket with Paul Robeson at his side defying Jim Crow laws in dozens of states. It was this credible threat on the part of the Progressive Party to peel Black voters away from the Democratic party which led Truman to issue his election year executive order de-segregating the armed forces. This year, Cynthia McKinney and Ralph Nader have both declared their intention to explore presidential candidacies this year outside the Democratic party. Both have exemplary records of public service. Neither is a hater. Both are agitators in the best sense of that word. If Barack Obama, or for that matter Hillary Clinton is to be the Democratic presidential nominee, it's time they felt the heat to line up with Democratic voters, rather than with the DLC and the party's biggest donors.

My good friend's veiw on Obama....

I was at work last night when my good friend Apeil came by and we talked about the last week's events and what people are talking about. If you know April, you know that she is a very strong spoken African American woman and she holds nothing back. I told her about Myself getting blocked by a local blogger and she laughed so hard she about fell off the stool she was sitting upon! She told me that if anyone calls me names they have to deal with her. On another note we got talking ABOUT Obama and she had to say " we are really in trouble" and I asked why she says this and she tells me that if Obaama wins he won't really know what to do because he is so young and no exp. And if Hillary wins she will run the country on emotions but he husband will help her run the country like it should be run. I respect her opinion about things going on.

We will pay out our butt this year...

It's the last year for President Bush and ye we are going to be paying alot more for gas than ever before. Back in 1999 gas was $1.46 and the it took off when Bush came into office. Mot say its not because of Bush but I know better. I am going on record now to say that I think gas will be almost $4.00 by the end of the year. Bush is from Texas and we all know that Texas has oil. Bush is from Texas as well and his lobbist are in oil. If you think back we have more and more prescription ads on t.v. now more than ever. Everyone has something wrong with them either high blodd pressure, sleep roblems, or no insurance. Look to the republicans and blame them for high prices that we have to pay now and in the future. They will get us this year they are in office. i want to know what Hillary and Obama are going to do to help lower the prices for us? Anyone know?

What accomplishments Obama?

I see now that Obama really doesnt have any accomplishments That he has made in office. People don't need to vote on someone because they are popular but vote for experience. come on people don't make a mistake again like you all did back in 2000 for Bush!!

you did more good than bad...

I had one of the best days as hits go on my blog yesterday and it gives me great joy that more people have seen my blog than anyone else. I write my blog as my feelings and not to impress anyone online. I might offend some folks but I am too the point in my life I dont give a rats ass. I was going to shut down my blog this weekend but after thining about it all night while at work I have decided not to let someone run me off from bloggin. I have talked to several online friends this morning and I have decided I am going to let things go now and not step down to the level and rise up to be a stronger person. If you still want to read my blog then go right ahead and join the fun.But remember please benice on here and dont hate because haters are not allowed!!! word!!!

Obama might change parties if he doesnt get his way...

I read something last night over at V. Voters that might interest all of you Obama people. If he doesnt get the nomination then he will leave the Democrates and run on his own. This is flip flopping or as I see it not standing true to his word or his party so whats to say he wont stay true to his word as President?

I have enjoyed the fun times and making of new friends while I have been blogging. I have only been blogging to have alittle fun and just use this blog to entertain others but I now feel that it is time for me to close my blog down and leave as for some folks just take my words and turn them into something that they aren't. I am glad I made a few good friends through blogging like Kathy T., Chip, Gunner, M., Gingersnaps, Brittney G., Christian, and others. Thank you for reading my craziness and being there. I must now say goodbye to all of you and will close this blog down at the end of the week. People are using what I say to slander me and try to ruin my character. I know in my heart that I am not racist and I am a great person. I will leave you with a thought.

OMG!!

I want everyone in the blogger world to know that I have been block by the bad bad Ivy and I am so fucking hurt over this I am loosing sleep.....NOT!! I don't have time for her and her petty shit because she has always called me a rasict because of my views. Like my other post if I was fucking racist then why is most of my friends black and asain? hmmmm Don't fucking judge me until you get to know me. People like her are the reason that the race card is used!! I am done!!! I have tried to be friends with this woman and it is not working. I watch after my customers at work that are black and asain so the white man doesnt cause problems with them. Y ou can ask any of my regular customers at work to see if I am racist. They will tell you I treat them like they should be. I just cant believe someone will say this about because all of this shit is just high school bullshit and I am not going to drop down to her level anymore and fight with this woman. My true friends were there for the Bowling for Brandon fundraiser and saw my regular customers and saw how I treated them. If I treated them with racsim then why did my Asian friends come and sepnd money to help out a teen that I was trying to help? God I dont have time for this since I work so hard for my money and working 20 str8 days this time around. Hard work that I can say I earn!!

Does disliking someone make you racist?

Ok eveyone, there is this one person that everytime I make a statement, thinks I am racist. Well I want everyone to know that just because I don't like someone doesn't mean I am racist. I don't like a number of people and that is not because of skin color or nationality. I don't like certain white people, black people, gay people, and so on. the people I don't like have either done something to me or I just can't stand them. It is a free country and I can feel the way I want to feel. She knows who is she and I bet she doesnt like certain folks either so does that make her racist too? Hmm!!Some close friends of mine are black, asian, mexican and ect so dont go around fucking telling people that I am a racist....You don't know me so dont fucking judge me while you sit in your little world of computers and such!! I dont like Obama because I have had bad feelings about him way before he said he was going to run for president. It's not because he is black so get over it and grow the fuck up!!!!
